Bristol Early Years Speech and Language Therapy Team is offering a range of free support services for parents and carers to help their children’s communication development.

The team runs regular parent webinars including Baby Talk sessions for parents of children aged 0-18 months and Toddler Talk sessions for parents of children aged 18 months to 3 years. These one-hour online sessions explore how to support children’s language development through everyday activities, focusing on play and routines, book sharing and songs. Places are still available for the Toddler Talk session on Friday 13th February from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.

Baby Talk sessions can be booked at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/baby-talk-parents-and-carers-tickets-163631244457 and Toddler Talk sessions can be booked at https://toddlertalk.eventbrite.co.uk/

Parents and carers can also access the Bristol Early Years Telephone Advice Line by calling 0300 124 6876 between 9.30am and 12pm. The line operates on Tuesdays for East and Central Bristol, Wednesdays for South Bristol and Thursdays for North Bristol. Speech and language therapists are available to chat and provide advice about supporting children aged 0-4 years.

The Talk to Me campaign provides downloadable resources, tips and videos to support language development through everyday activities like chatting, singing, playing and reading together. Families can access resources at https://sirona-cic.org.uk/children-services/services/early-years-speech-language-therapy-resources/ and follow Sirona Care and Health on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/SironaCIC/) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/sironacic/) for regular tips and advice.
