The Food Standards Agency is asking parents, early years settings and caregivers to check their infant formula against specific batches of Aptamil and Cow & Gate products that have been recalled by Danone.
The recall has been issued due to potential cereulide contamination, which can cause illness including vomiting and stomach cramps. The issue only affects specific batches listed in the recall notice, in addition to products included in an earlier recall on 23rd January 2026.
If you have any of the affected products, the FSA advises that you stop using them immediately and switch to an alternative formula. If the formula was prescribed, please speak to a pharmacist or doctor before changing. If you have recently fed the affected formula to your baby and are concerned about symptoms, contact your GP or call NHS 111.
You can check whether your formula is affected by viewing the Product Recall Information Notice at https://www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/alert/fsa-prin-05-2026
Information about the earlier recall can be found at https://www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/alert/fsa-prin-03-2026
Please check your infant formula products and share this information with anyone who may be affected.
