Thank you all who met, zoomed or spoke by phone with your child’s key person in our ‘new look’ Parents review evenings at the beginning of this term. It was lovely to be able to share the learning and experiences your children are having at FANS, as well as discuss any concerns and hear some celebrations. We had some great feedback so once again thank you! It is amazing how the school community has adjusted to continuing restrictions and how we can continue to meet you and your child’s needs.
Just a few things for Term 5….
Some of our children are approaching their last two terms with us before a move to their new Reception class in September. How time flies! While we are not yet preparing the children for this move as it is still early, we are making arrangements for Reception teachers to visit the children in the garden next term. We trust you have all received your school allocation or are in the process of appeal. Please do let us know if we can help with this. Our ‘leavers’ are going to 13 different Primaries this year, Filton Avenue primary being the main one. Unfortunately due to restrictions, we will not be able to take groups of children to visit next door as we usually do. However, I know the Primaries will do everything they can to make this transition happen smoothly.
Please remember to send in named sun cream and hat for when the sun starts to shine a little more.
Can we also ask you to update the office with any new information such as change of telephone numbers, addresses or other relevant info? Thank you.
The Children’s Kitchen volunteer Claire is back with us now and we are excited that the children have the opportunity to explore, chop, cook and taste a whole range of fruit and vegetables. We will be sharing more about this on the gate soon.
We are enjoying our outside spaces and much of your children’s learning is taking place outside. There is a wealth of physical development, learning about gardening, seeds, planting, creative play, mathematical play as well as many stories being shared in quieter, sheltered spaces within the garden. The children are learning to communicate with each other, resolve conflict, laugh and support each other as well as collaborate on adventures.
I am sure, like us, you looking forward to June 21st when restrictions are lifted in varying degrees. I will keep you updated nearer the time, in terms of what that means for the school community at FANS.
Thank you once again for your continued support. It really feels we are making very good progress to some sort of normality.
Best Wishes
