This year has been full of growth and accomplishments for the Acorns Room. We’re proud of everything the children have achieved, from building independence and confidence to developing friendships and a love of learning. We’re grateful for the continued support from our families that make this possible.

We have developed our outside space with the Education Nature Park programme. This aims to help children build a connection to nature through discovery and learning. As well as improving physical and mental wellbeing through spending time outdoors. Through this scheme we had our Top Garden enhanced with a new bird hide climbing frame, bench with planters, a massive tyre sandpit, bee friendly plants and bird boxes.

This has worked well alongside our Sow, Grow and Eat project we started in January with seed and tool donations from Filton Community Garden. The children have been hands on with growing and caring for our plants. We have noticed that they have developed a keen interest in plants and insects! We look forward to developing this further next year.

Our Book Share has also been a great success this year. We hope you’ve enjoyed choosing and sharing books with your children. We have really seen their interest in books develop and their excitement around storytelling grow. The Family Book has also been a great success. Please feel free to keep adding photos to Tapestry over the summer for your child to share in the new school year.

There will be an exciting new addition to Acorns. From September, we’ll be introducing Little Acorns, a dedicated space for our youngest learners. We can’t wait to welcome new families and members of the Acorns team.

We would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful Acorns parents for your support and patience throughout the year. Your encouragement, involvement, and understanding have made a world of difference to all the children, and we are grateful to have you as part of our nursery community.

To the children and families moving on to preschool, we’ll miss you greatly. It’s been a joy to watch you grow, and we know you’ll thrive in the next stage of your journey. For those returning in September, we’re so pleased to have you back. We’re also looking forward to meeting our new families and starting another brilliant year together.
