In January, Acorns Room embarked on an exciting vegetable growing project following a generous donation of seeds and tools from Filton Community Garden. The children planted various vegetables, including peas and potatoes, and carefully tended to them throughout the growing season.

Earlier this term, we celebrated our first harvest of homegrown peas and potatoes! To mark this special achievement, we prepared a delicious tray of roast vegetables using our own produce alongside additional vegetables kindly donated by the Children’s Kitchen.

The children took an active role in the cooking process, washing, peeling and chopping the vegetables themselves. They watched with anticipation as their harvest roasted in the oven, eager to taste the fruits of their labour. What a wonderful way to enjoy the rewards of months of careful planting and nurturing!
