This week in the Little Acorns room, the children engaged in a fun and hands on activity to explore their five senses through food tasting. Together with their peers, they created a healthy salad using a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, including, tomatoes, apples and carrots.

As part of the activity, a practitioner demonstrated how to safely use a knife, modelling correct cutting techniques of using it safely. The children observed closely and imitated the adults action. This sensory experience supported their fine motor skills and their social development.

They have also engaged in a range physical activities in the garden, such as painting, building ramps and playing in the sandpit.
