We have welcomed lots of new friends into our room, supporting them as they settle into their nursery journey whilst building relationships and creating a warm, inclusive community.
We have been enjoying being outside whatever the weather, embracing all conditions whilst developing resilience and understanding that outdoor play is valuable in rain or shine. The children have been starting seeds off in the greenhouse, learning about plant growth and developing responsibility as they care for their seedlings.
We have been jumping in colourful puddles and mixing the colours, exploring colour theory through active play whilst discovering how colours combine and change. The children have been looking at the crocuses growing in our garden, observing the first signs of spring and noticing how plants emerge and develop.
We have been going for walks in the local area, noticing what’s around them and taking pictures for our local landmarks book that the children can look at in the room. This helps children understand their community and build connections between nursery and the wider world.
