Hello to all returning parents/carers and a warm welcome to our new families joining us this September.  We cannot wait to meet you and get to know your children and welcome back our returning children after their Summer break.

New families, you can download our Nursery Induction Leaflet below.

Over the next few weeks we will be communicating with you in a variety of ways; our Facebook page, website, face to face communications, telephone and email. Also, don’t forget to keep an eye on our chalkboard on the drive for one-off notices.

We recognise that COVID-19 restrictions have eased, however, we are aware of the need to continue to keep everyone as safe as possible. Therefore, we will still be operating our one-way drop off and pick up system through the garden, leaving the children with their key person at each room entrance. Please discuss with your key person if you are at all concerned and we can help support any first-day wobbles!

Acorns children will have a slightly different approach due to the age of the children. Please see Kirsty, Acorns room leader for further details.

Drop-off and pick-up times are as follows:

8:45am – 9:05am
11:35am – 11:45am
12:30pm – 12:40pm
3:10pm – 3:30pm

It would help the smooth running of the school as well as your child’s sense of belonging if you could arrive between the above times. The gates will shut at the end of these times. If you need to drop off or pick up late please telephone the office to make arrangements. Thank you.

We would respectfully ask you to maintain social distancing while waiting, wear a face covering if you need to come into the building and of course, act quickly if you or your children display any of the symptoms for COVID-19.  Any child who is unwell will feel most comfortable at home.

I would kindly ask that you let us know if you or your child tests positive for COVID-19 as soon as possible or you have to go into isolation. Any closure or reduction of nursery due to staff shortages, isolation or illness will be disruptive to all so I would appreciate a clear communication regarding any COVID-19 outbreak. Thank you.

Thank you so much for choosing Filton Avenue Nursery School (FANS) and we are excited to begin the term with you. I am confident you will enjoy your child’s learning journey with us and be able to share in their excitement about learning and experiencing new and exciting things as well as the new friends they will make and all the sociable benefits that will bring. It’s a whole new world to enjoy!

I am always happy to answer any questions on the gate, similarly, Johnny (Assistant Head) and Liz (Assistant Head/SENCo).  We look forward to seeing you all soon!

With very best wishes,

Sarah and the FANS team
