Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council, and South Gloucestershire Council, together with Barnardo’s, are launching their very first joint Infant Feeding Celebration Week from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th November 2025.
With the theme “It Takes a Village”, this special week recognises the incredible efforts and dedication of everyone who supports families throughout their infant feeding experience, including health professionals, volunteers, family and friends. It celebrates every feeding journey and those who make a difference across our local area.
A special celebration event will be held locally on Tuesday 25th November from 9.30am to 11.30am at Miro Lounge, The Paintworks, Bath Road, Bristol, BS4 3EH.
The morning is open to everyone at any stage of the infant feeding journey. It provides a wonderful opportunity to meet other families, get feeding information and support, find out about other events in your area, and enjoy a free hot drink with every cake order, courtesy of Lounge café bars.
Similar events will also be taking place at Teatro Lounge in Clevedon and Barranco Lounge in South Gloucestershire on the same morning, so families across the region can take part.
Every feeding journey is different, and support comes from many different people and networks. If you would like to thank a friend, family member or somebody else in your support village, you can pick up a thank you postcard at one of the celebration events.
To recognise a health professional or volunteer who has provided infant feeding support, you can nominate them to receive a thank you at https://www.breastfeedingsouthglos.co.uk/infant-feeding-celebration-week-2025
We hope families from Filton Avenue Nursery School can join in this wonderful community celebration.
