Our first weeks back have been wonderfully busy in Acorns Room. We have been welcoming new friends to the room and helping them settle into their new environment, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere for everyone.
The children have been making the most of autumn’s bounty by picking apples from our apple tree to make delicious apple crumble and creating a bulb lasagne ready for spring blooms. We have been engaging in various cooking activities, including roasting vegetables, making smoothies and soup, all while enjoying plenty of play and exploration throughout the nursery.
These experiences support the Early Years Foundation Stage areas of Understanding the World through exploring seasonal changes and the origins of food, Physical Development through developing cooking skills, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development through welcoming new friends and working together.
