This week, Acorns Room has been celebrating Bonfire Night with a special fire experience. The children enjoyed toasting bread over the fire, watching the bread change colour and texture whilst learning about fire safety and the transformative power of heat. We shared hot chocolate and biscuits, creating a cosy community gathering around the fire.
This memorable experience helped children understand seasonal traditions whilst developing their understanding of how fire works and the importance of staying safe around it. The sensory experience of feeling the warmth, seeing the flames, smelling the toasting bread, and tasting the treats made this a truly multi-sensory celebration of autumn festivities.
