After a lovely long holiday, the children are settling back into Nursery and exploring the various areas of their new rooms. It’s lovely to see them engaging with their surroundings and each other.
In the painting area, the children have been paying close attention to the details in their mark-making. It’s fascinating to observe how they sometimes give meaning to those marks, showcasing their creativity and growing understanding of the world around them.
One child, in particular, was seen counting the holes in the numicon. He was practising his one-to-one correspondence skills, carefully giving each hole a number as he counted up to seven. This activity not only helps with their counting skills but also reinforces their ability to focus and follow through with a task.
We are excited to see how the children continue to grow and learn throughout the year. Stay tuned for more updates on their wonderful progress!
